27 days detailed Uganda safari itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Jinja
On day one of the 27 days trip, the company representative will pick you up from Entebbe International airport to Jinja district for water rafting experience. On your way, expect several stopovers like at Sezibwa falls, Mabira forest for a forest walk, the Equator for photography and others. Upon arrival in Jinja, you will check in at the lodge/hotel of your booking for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: White water rafting and drive to Ssipi falls
Wake up for your early morning breakfast at the lodge and proceed for white water rafting on River Nile. Before the fascinating experience, you will get a pre-safety training from the rafting guides and after proceed with a half day rafting. From there, you will move back to the lodge for a checkout and drive to Ssipi falls
Day 3: Hike Ssipi falls and proceed to Mount Elgon national park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Sipi falls offices where you will get a guide for the hike. Sipi falls has 3 falls at Mount Elgon that range at 85m, 75m, and 100meters. You can opt to hike all the 3 falls depending on your physical fitness and choose to visit 2 or one. In the afternoon, you will make a transfer to Mount Elgon national park for the two days hike.
Day 4: Hiking of Mount Egon
The hiking experience will take place from day 4 up to day 5 and you will encounter several attractions like bird species, small animals, insects, butterflies plus the unique and beautiful vegetation cover.
Day 6: Drive to Moroto
Set off from Mount Elgon national park to Moroto town in northeastern Uganda after your breakfast. Moroto is known for several sightings including the thrilling views of Mount Moroto and the ranges of other nearby mountains, exciting bird species, and others. A night will be at any hotel/lodge in Moroto.
Day 7: Proceed to Kidepo valley national park
After breakfast at the lodge in Moroto, you will proceed with the drive to Kidepo valley national park in Karamoja region. The park is known for hosting various bird species and the hot springs and also a number of wildlife species. The drive from Gulu to Kidepo takes about 4 to 5 hours and upon the arrival, you will camp at the camping sites of the park for overnight
Dinner and overnight at the campsites
Day 8: Full day game drive
Wake up for your breakfast and drive through the park savannah plains for a game viewing experience. The park is known for hosting several animals like elephants, zebras, buffalos, leopards, hartebeests, Rothschild Giraffes, side backed jackal and others. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an evening game drive.
In the afternoon, you will drive back for another game drive where you will have more sightings including the hot springs of Kanangorok, the giant ostriches and more wildlife species. After, you will drive back to the camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Proceed to Murchison falls national park and hike the top of the falls
Start off your day to Murchison falls national park from Kidepo valley national park after an early breakfast. Murchison falls national park stands as the largest national park in Uganda and its known for hosting the world’s most powerful waterfalls. Upon arrival at the park in the late afternoon hours, you will hike to the top of the falls where you will see a 7 meters gap where water squeezes itself to make to the powerful waterfalls. Later, you will drive to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Full day Game drive
Wake up very early for the beautiful sunrise in the wild with your packed breakfast and also look for the early hunters – lions, leopards and hyenas as they are returning to their habitats. You will spot other animals including zebras, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, topis, giraffes and many others. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later move back for another game drive where you will surely spot other wild animals hiding in tree branches and others playing in the open savannah. Later in the afternoon hours, you will drive back to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Game drive and boat trip
Wake up very early for the beautiful sunrise in the wild with your packed breakfast and also look for the early hunters – lions, leopards and hyenas as they are returning to their habitats. You will spot other animals including zebras, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, topis, giraffes and many others. From here, you will return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch as you wait for the afternoon boat cruise.
The boat trip in Murchison falls national park takes place on Victoria Nile and it is the best way of spotting various animals like Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and variety of water birds along the shores. From the two hours boat trip, you will drive back to the lodge for refreshments, dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Drive to Ziwa Rhino tracking Sanctuary
After breakfast, you will drive from Murchison falls national park to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking experience. The sanctuary stands as the second destination after the Zoo where one can sight the black rhinos in the Republic of Uganda. You will spend the night at the hotel of your choice near Ziwa.

Day 13: Transfer to Kibale National park
Have early breakfast and embark on a long journey drive to Kibale national park for chimpanzee trekking experience. Arrive at the park in late evening and check in at the lodge of your choice for dinner and overnight

Day 14: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland visit
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and water for briefing about the rules and regulations of the experience. You will be allocated to the chimpanzee family to track by the help of the range guide. On seeing the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them while taking their pictures and videos.
After the tracking, you will refresh at the lodge and then go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland sanctuary. The wetland is known for hosting several primate species and a number of birdlife. After, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight
Day 15: Drive to Rwenzori mountains national park
Wake up for breakfast and check out of the lodge for your transfer to Rwenzori mountains national park for the 4 days hike. The hike will start from Mihunga gate to Nyabitaba camp, John Matte camp, Bujjuku camp and then back to Mihunga gate. The hike will expose you to several features and attractions including lakes, rivers, rocks, unique vegetation and many others. Rwenzori hiking experience will take place from day 15 up to day 18.

Day 19: Proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wake up for your breakfast and prepare for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park the second largest national park in Uganda after Murchison falls. The park is known for hosting the four of the 5 big African animals with an include of the rare tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. The park not only habitat the mammal species but also several primates like chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge. The drive to Queen Elizabeth national park will expose you to several beautiful features while on the way including the tea and banana plantations, crater lakes and the amazing views of the Rwenzori ranges. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon for lunch and later proceed with an afternoon game drive in Kasenyi. The game drive will expose you to a number of animals like leopards, elephants, zebras, warthogs, topis, Uganda kobs and others.

Day 20: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up early for a beautiful sunrise in the wild and proceed with an early morning game drive with your packed breakfast so as to spot the early hunters like lions, leopards, hyenas and others. You will also watch other animals like waterbucks, bush bucks, elephants, buffalos and others. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for an interesting boat cruise at Kazinga channel where Lake Edward and George connects. The experience will expose you to several wildlife species such as water animals like crocodiles, hippos, buffalos plus large population of elephants around the waterbody. The ride on the calm waters will also enable you to see an array of birds along the shores. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 21: Game drive in Ishasha and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
In the morning after your tasty breakfast, you will drive through Ishasha sector, the home to the rare tree climbing lions. Besides the lions, the sector is also a home to other several animals and bird species. You will later proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park where you will reach in the late afternoon hours.

Day 22: Gorilla habituation experience
Wake up for your early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing about gorilla habituation experience. Unlike gorilla trekking where you are given one hour, gorilla habituation takes place for a full day and the tourists are allowed to spend over 5 to 6 hours with the habituated mountain gorillas. After the process, you will be driven back to the starting point for the certificates of recognition and later drive back to the lodge for refreshments, dinner and overnight.
Note: For one to take part in the gorilla habituation experience, he/she must possess a habituation permit which costs USD 1500 per person.
Day 23: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After your tasty breakfast, drive from Bwindi Impenetrable national park to Lake Bunyonyi – a home of various bird species. Lake Bunyonyi is also known for hosting splendid features like hills, forests, waters, islands and others. Upon your arrival at the lake, you can opt for a boat canoeing experience or just go for a nature walk around the area. In the evening, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 24: Community visit and relaxation along the lake shores

p for your breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a community visit around the lake. There are a lot of cultural and natural sightings around Lake Bunyonyi and among these include; the Bakora cave, the Batwa pygmies, plus the traditional blacksmiths who are known as the Abaheesi. Also, the walk will also take you around beautiful islands like Habuharo, Bucuraniko and Akampene island. From the walk, you will move back to the lodge for refreshment and have a relaxed evening along the lake shores.
Day 25: Drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park
Have your tasty breakfast and checkout of the lodge for the transfer to the home of primates – Mgahinga gorilla national park. Apart from Bwindi Impenetrable national park, Mgahinga is the second park in Uganda that hosts the endangered mountain gorillas. The park also hosts the rare golden monkeys that can be seen in the Virunga mountain ranges. Upon the arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge your booking for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 26: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural encounter
After breakfast that early morning, move to the headquarters of the park for briefing with your packed lunch. After, enter the forest for gorilla trekking guided by the Park rangers. You are allowed to spend only one hour with the gorillas though trekking as a whole might take 2 to 8 hours.
Later in the evening take a walk in the Batwa community for some cultural encounters from the Batwa people like the traditional dances among others.

Day 27: Drive to Kigali
In the morning after your tasty breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge for the transfer to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali for your departure flight.
