On this trip, you will experience the beauty of Rwanda – the “land of a thousand Hills.” Enjoy the different backdrops and Landscape of Rwanda as you turn along the hilly roads. The parks are a mixture of savannah, forest, and mountainous. You will trek Chimps in Nyungwe forest and gorillas in Volcanoes national park. After your trip in Rwanda, you will then fly to Tanzania for the wildlife experience in Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro.

Day 1: Arrival to Kigali
Welcome to Rwanda the land of “a thousand hills.” Our guide/ representative staff will be at the airport to pick you and transfer you to the hotel for overnight. If you arrive in the morning or early afternoon, you will enjoy a short tour of Kigali City visiting the genocide memorial.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest national park
This morning transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. We shall stopover in Huye for lunch and a visit to the national museum to learn more about the history and traditions of the Rwanda people. We arrive in Nyungwe forest later in the evening.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe forest
After an early breakfast, we leave for Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest. The forest is rich in botanical diversity and home to 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, L’Hoest monkeys, and Columbus monkeys with 300 bird species. Your tour guide will transfer you to the briefing area where you will meet your community guide and receive briefing before you start your trek.
Return to the lodge after the chimp trek or you can choose to do the Canopy Walk immediately so that you rest once. The canopy walk allows you beautiful views of the forest from above as you admire nature.

Day 4: Columbus monkey tracking and Transfer to Volcanoes national park
You will have an early breakfast and then prepare for the tracking which will take a minimum of 4 hours.
We leave for Volcanoes national park after lunch. Enjoy the different sights and winding roads in the land of a thousand hills. You will have opportunities to have different stopovers for pictures and stretching depending on your needs.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and gorilla guardian’s village
Meet the mountain gorillas in the dense jungles of the Virunga ranges. The trek to the gorillas starts with a briefing at the park headquarters in Kinigi where you are assigned a ranger and gorilla family to trek. After briefing, your ranger guide leads you to the starting point of the trek. You might need to drive to the starting point of the trek depending on location of gorilla group you are trekking. The trek through the habitat of these enormous animals is a fulfilling unforgettable experience that many people look to undertake. The trek can last from a few minutes to several hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night.
After your lunch to visit the gorilla guardian’s village where you will learn more about the Rwandan culture. Become a King or Queen for a day, get involved in knitting, learn how to use a bow and arrow and enjoy songs & folks from the Rwanda society.

Day 6: Golden monkey tracking
Start your day with breakfast and transfer the national park for a briefing about the golden monkey tracking. After your briefing, you will head to the tracking point for this activity. After locating the golden monkeys, you will only be allowed to spend 1 hour with them.
You will meet your tour guide at the start point after your tracking who will drive you back to your hotel.

Day 7: Dian Fossey campus and transfer to Kigali
You will have breakfast at your preferred time and the tour guide will pick you up at 10:00am after you check. You will visit the Ellen De Generes campus of Dian Fossey and the transfer to Kigali after your lunch where your lunch.

Day 8: Transfer to the Airport for your flight to Arusha
You will have an early breakfast and then transfer to the airport for your flight. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to Arusha. Settle into Summit Lodge and enjoy the evening at leisure, with a chance to rest after your international flight.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park
Adventure After breakfast, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant herds and majestic baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch inside the park. Arrive at Suricata Boma Lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 10: Cultural Immersion & Local Discoveries
Begin the day with a visit to a traditional Maasai village to learn about this iconic East African culture. Later, explore local artisan markets for handcrafted souvenirs. Return to Suricata Boma Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Journey to the Serengeti
Depart early for the Serengeti via the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, with wildlife viewing en route. By afternoon, you’ll reach the sweeping plains of the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge in the heart of the park.

Day 12: Serengeti Balloon Safari & Wildlife Expedition
Start your day with an optional hot air balloon ride at sunrise, followed by a bush breakfast. Spend the rest of the day on thrilling game drives seeking lions, leopards, and large herds of wildebeest. Return to Seronera Wildlife Lodge for the night.

Day 13: Morning Drive & Transfer to Ngorongoro
Enjoy one last game drive in the Serengeti before traveling toward Ngorongoro. Arrive at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, perched on the crater rim, in time for dinner. Rest well for the following day’s epic descent.

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater—home to the Big Five—for a half-day game drive in this UNESCO-listed wonder. Later, transfer to Manyara Wildlife Lodge for dinner and overnight with views overlooking the Great Rift Valley.

Day 15: Lake Manyara National Park
Start the morning with a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and scenic lake. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha for a farewell dinner and overnight at Summit Lodge.

Day 16: Departure
Departure from Arusha After breakfast and depending on your flight time, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your journey home—with incredible memories in tow.
